Our middle child has gotten her own place! Yay! We’re on our way to becoming empty nesters. I devised this (very easy) knitting pattern as a housewarming gift for her.
She loves fall and fall colors, so I chose Peaches and Creme yarn in a color called Oasis. It’s an oatmeal-colored yarn with little flecks of brown, orange, and mustard yellow. Four 2-ounce balls were enough to make two dishcloths and a dishtowel.

The knit stitch I used is called Fabric Stitch. It makes a tight, dense fabric with a minimum of stretch. It has a nubby texture on the reverse side and a smoother, woven texture on the right side. You’ll want to use needles that are a little larger than usual to knit this pattern.

The stitch pattern consists of only two rows and is easy to memorize, so this is a perfect project for TV-watching or listening to a podcast!
